HARBOURVIEW HOTEL, MACAU [travel]

Harbourview Hotel macau is a new hotel that opened in Feb 2015.   This unique experience combines historic charm and modern elegance.

This wonderful hotel boasts a sophisticated and exquisite design based on 18th century Prague.   At the reception, you see paintings of 18th century Prague and straight away, you are transported into a different world.

The room offers stellar value.  Being a new hotel, everything in the room is new. Decorated in pale, soothing hues, the room is beautiful and relaxing.  The room is also in European style like the rest of the hotel.  Think patterned fabric and ornate furniture.  Usually, I would have found faux European designs kitschy but here, it was elegant.

The bed is a real joy.  Crisp and clean, the sheets sport a faint broad strip pattern and they feel like they have a high thread count, just like the best of sheets.  The pillows are thick and heavy.  I feel so pampered and cocooned in this bed. There are around 30 channels on the television, a mixture of local and cable channels. The best part is, the TV is 40 inches while most hotels offer only 32 inches. I was most impressed that they have correctly invested into USB charging ports.  Thank god they understand the needs of the modern traveller.

The bathroom features a shower stall and a beautiful bathtub on legs. It is so rare for new hotels to have both these days, so the hotel is already superior to others.

They have provided luxurious L’occitane toiletries for a truly relaxing shower experience.

You can watch TV while soaking in the tub as the bedroom is seperated from the bathroom by a glass window.  Don’t worry, you can lower a blind for privacy.

There is one restaurant in the hotel. Praha Restaurant’s elegant design offers an authentic Eastern European atmosphere.  It specialises in daily buffet and international a la carte menu.

Ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan Hotel [travel]

At noon on the third day of the journey, after breakfast in the hotel, we were going to take a boat from Macau to Hong Kong. At the beginning, we chose to live here mainly because the location of Ibis sheung wan is quite good. Apart from being very close to the lively Sheung Wan, the most important distance is from us. The pier from Macau is not too far away. After leaving the pier, you will pass through the "Sin Tak Center" which is not small and somewhat similar to a department store. After passing through the Westport City, you will arrive in about ten minutes. Although the four of us were still lost in the end, we asked several Hong Kong people along the way and were very enthusiastic to give us directions. Getting lost and asking for directions is also one of the pleasures of self-guided travel.

In addition, the traffic location of Ibis is very convenient, the subway station is not far away, and the nearby "Sheung Wan Station" is not too close. It takes about ten minutes to walk, but it doesn't matter. The door is the stop sign of the Ding Ding car. "Queen Street Station" Oh!

When you come to Hong Kong, Ding Ding is a must-have means of transportation! Riding the Ding Ding car through the streets of Central and Sheung Wan, the sound of "ding" and "ding" is heard from time to time in my ears. This is a sensation that you can't experience in Taiwan, whether you go to Central to eat Lan Fong Garden, Yung Kee Restaurant, or To enjoy the nightlife in Lan Kwai Fong is one of the must-go journeys in Hong Kong.

In addition, the famous old Hong Kong-style tea drinking "Lianxiangju" is right next door, but, having said that, we are still lost again XD

After exiting the hotel door and rushing forward, we went around for a long time and realized that we were far away in the sky and right in front of us, right next door! ! ! Why didn't four people see with eight eyes? Hahaha...actually because the signboards are parallel and not protruding, and we went out of the Ibis gate and happened to be in the same direction as the store signboard, so of course it was invisible. XD

We dragged our luggage from the Hong Kong and Macau Ferry Terminal and finally found the location of Ibis. The red sign can be seen from a distance, which is conspicuous.

The reception hall is on the 5th floor. After entering the 1st floor, you can take the elevator to check in by yourself.

There are 2 room cards for a room . The difference from Macau is that no deposit is required for check-in .

On the whole, Ibis IBIS has convenient geographical transportation location, and the housing price is relatively cheap in the Central and Sheung Wan area. We took full advantage of the staggered use of the Ding Ding car and the subway during the two nights of stay in Hong Kong, whether it is to enjoy the night view, It’s very convenient to go to Victoria Harbour to watch the light show, go to Sheung Wan to enjoy food, and the hotel provides free shuttle bus guests to Hong Kong Station. On the last day of the journey, we took the shuttle bus to Hong Kong Station after pre-loading luggage. Easily take the Airport Express to the airport, which is a good accommodation choice.

Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong [travel]

After arriving in Hong Kong by Qatar Airways in business class, you will take a direct ride to the hotel. This time I stayed at the newly opened Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong (Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong). The predecessor of this hotel was called "Hotel Vic on The Harbour", but it was opening Not long after (about a year in my impression), I joined the Hyatt Hotel Group and changed my name to my current name.

The location of the hotel is not in Central / Causeway Bay / Tsim Sha Tsui / Mong Kok and other tourist attractions known to ordinary tourists, but in North Point, which is less visited by ordinary tourists. However, in terms of transportation, it is not inconvenient because it is not in a popular tourist area. If you depart from the airport, you can take the airport bus directly, or take the Airport Express to transfer to the shuttle bus at Hong Kong Station. There is also a subway opposite the hotel. The station is in and out, and there is the North Point Ferry Terminal next to it. You can cross Victoria Harbour to reach the Kowloon area, which is convenient. In addition to convenient transportation, there is also a shopping mall downstairs, and it is also close to the well-known food stall in the traditional market-Dongbao Xiaoguan, not to mention the surrounding restaurants, so there is no need to worry about dining.

This hotel is designed by the well-known "Rocco Design" team. Their works also include the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, and the Renaissance Taipei Shihlin Hotel, etc. Presumably this hotel must have some good design ingenuity, which made me think about this hotel. Hyatt Centric North Point has an inexplicable expectation. If you use Hyatt points to redeem directly, you need 15,000 points per night, so I pay directly at the cash price (about $100 per night). This kind of price is basically impossible in Hong Kong in the past. , Just this time I have the opportunity to take advantage of a good price to enjoy this highly rated hotel.

This hotel is divided into two buildings, east and west, the check-in hall is on the second floor of the east building, and the executive lounge is in the west building. Since I had the membership of "Explorist" at the time, I asked if I had the opportunity to upgrade, and the counter staff also helped me upgrade to the noble ocean view room. Although it was only a small explorer membership, I didn't have the opportunity to upgrade. I was able to upgrade to a suite, but I was still very grateful, because the sea view of this hotel is very good. It is cool to be able to lie on the bed and watch the sunrise, the sea view, and the sunset.
